Today is the 81st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Please take a moment to remember those who offer up their lives in service to our country.

I'd like to know what I said that deserved to be deleted. I specially said that I have nothing but respect for our brave soldiers. That doesn't mean I have to respect the "industry" of war. I was asked to take a moment to remember the fallen, and that's what I did.

You say I bully you? Seriously, you have it backwards. Just let me express myself, please.

I have no idea what you said but you have every right to know why you post was deleted. I wish we could see your post to try and determine what those in power of this board deem offensive. As for you being bullied, I know the feeling and sorry you had to put up with it. Two members of this board have done the same to me and I decided to block them.

The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor was dedicated in 1962.  Elvis Presley, who served honorably in the U.S. Army during the 1950s, was instrumental in helping to raise money to build the memorial.  It is a very emotional experience to visit this grave site.  Here is a bit of film from the dedication ceremony.

I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the Arizona Memorial in 2014, it is wonderful memorial.

Thank you, Zeppie. I understand that this is a private forum and the moderators can do whatever they want, but I do think this is slightly unfair to me. I'll get over it, of course. All I was trying to say is that I do not think that glorification of Uncle Sam is the best way to remember those who have died, or served, or are still serving. Some died in service of their country, some died needlessly. Then there are those who served in service of "their" country, only for the GOP to vote against giving them citizenship. This happened only this week.

A salute to two Pearl Harbor survivors.  Heroes of "America's Greatest Generation".  Thank you.
