I just saw this at the movie theatre last night and I have to say this is my favorite movie I have ever seen. It truly too my breath away from laughter and tears. I think this should and will be rewarded at the next Academy Awards. Especially for Michelle Yeoh as Evelyn. Her performance here is so heartbreaking and captivating. She is one of the greatest actresses on the screen right now. The folks who play her family, Broadway alum Stephanie Hsu as her daughter Joy, Ke Huy Quan of The Goonies fame as her husband, and the legendary James Gong as her father were so pitch perfect in their roles. This film has as much emotion as it did science fiction. Despite its small budget and seemingly lack of promotion, I’m excited to see others are going out to see this special film.
Has anyone here seen it yet and have a take on it? Would love to discuss more about it with people. Especially the everything bagel vs. googly eyes!

I worked Background on it right before the pandemic! (One of the office workers in the FBI office.)
I can report that Jamie Lee Curtis worked her ass off, did not posture or act better than anyone, and looked us all in the eyes and was super nice to all of us, between takes. It was cool to watch some of the stunts the day we were on set, too.
Never thought that film would see the light of day since it took so long to come out, but it was shelved due to the pandemic and now the world can see it. I still have to go see the whole thing, lol!

Incredibly pleased by the wins for Everything Everywhere at the Oscar’s last night. Although, I do have a bone to pick for the way the producers campaigned for Jamie Lee Curtis over Stephanie Hsu. All the wins were still very deserved.

Guess I need to see this movie.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Enjoyable enough, but a good half hour too long, and too many foolish juvenile flourishes. The Battle Of The Sex Toys was just idiotic, a cheesy gimmick that went on way too long. Still, the sublime Michelle Yeoh kept the movie grounded in reality and humanity throughout the wildest moments. I like the film, but will be doing some serious fast-forwarding during future rewatches.
