I was so in love with the show that I decided to go back the following week and take my best friend. We bought balcony seats for my second viewing and it's a completely different show. You can't read any of the subtitles and it ruins so many poignant and beautiful moments. Do not, I repeat do NOT buy them!!
Unless anything has changed, this is a dead-easy rush. I was there at like 12:15 for a 2p show and got perfectly fine box seats for $20. Half the mezz was empty anyway, if they sucked.
I don't know how it will.be like this last coming week. But I wouldn't chance it with Balcony tickets in that theater. Truly awful seats . Spend a little more and at least do mezzanie. Really worth the extra money.
I couldn't read the titles and it irritated the hell out of me. There were no mentions of "partial view," but where was ANYONE on the production team to say, "The titles are too small and can't be read because they're too small and the lighting system blocks them from the balcony audience!"
Rush is not so easy now in its final days - I swung by the box office around 5pm last Saturday and rush was all sold in the morning. If you must sit in the balcony, go for the side sections instead of dead center. There is an extra screen just off stage left (and I assume, right) that I didn't have too much trouble reading. The only thing you miss is the complete list of Asch's works near the end.
Is there a reason why those lights had to be so low? Maybe for the final scene?

I agree with DAME. It is worth a few extra dollars.
Just saw Indecent for the second time last night. The first time I saw his was back in early June in the center balcony row F. I used one of those audio device things but inserted my Bose headphones which made SUCH a big difference in experience from up there!!! The lights do block the English surtitles but not the Hebrew ones. I can't read Hebrew but on the left side they also had surtitles and I was able to read that. Now I know if I ever sit in balcony again, wearing those audio sets make a big difference in experience.
If your budget can only afford balcony seats, try to sit in house right balcony or center balcony so you can see the surtitles on the side.
last night I sat front row mezz and wow what a different experience! I paid $99 for the seat and felt the $60 upgrade from balcony was worth every penny. Good luck and hope you get to see this play before aug 6.
I saw it via rush and sat in the balcony and had no problem - I'm 6'2" - reading anything. There are projections on the side as well. The lighting grid did kind of ruin the overall feel though, having to always have that in view. Perhaps not the best venue for the play.
