In her recent Theater People episode she talks about how not being on Broadway doesn't mean you're not working and creating. She'll come back to the stage when she chooses. It's not a crime that she wanted to focus on other creative aspects and her personal life.
Looks like my first comment was deleted. She's a great singer, but she's always Orfeh. Much like Bette, she's a personality. So if you are hiring Orfeh, you're getting her. It works for some things, but clearly not many. She's nice though.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
Everything that made Orfeh such an effective and enjoyable Paulette in Legally Blonde would likely make her wrong for so many other roles, so I have no difficulty believing that she struggles to find stage work.
