Based on all of the discount codes for this show and the complete lack of attention it is getting on the message boards, I was all set to sell the tickets I bought months ago and replace them with another show. By selling the tickets I could get tickets to Come From Away plus another show. All I was waiting for was for Ben Brantley to not make Present Laughter a critics pick. I refreshed around 14 times and now I won't be selling them because what I thought wouldn't happen did happen. So now I have to determine whether I want War Paint or Come From Away. Everyone hear seems to prefer Come From Away so I will probably do that. I know I can still sell the Present Laughter tickets but I purchased them prior to previews starting because I liked the cast so I'm going to give it a chance since Brantley likes it.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

My only exposure to the play was the Roundabout production a fewcyears ago and that version was nothing to rave about. I'll havevto check out this one.
Yah, I have to say that I was confused at all of the negativity this revival was getting on these boards. I really enjoyed the production immensely. I know critics' opinions aren't everything, but considering the majority of them are extremely positive, I feel fairly vindicated.

Eh, it just felt lackluster to me, and never really got off the ground... but I don't really let the opinion of critics, or my friend who attended with me and enjoyed it, make me question if I were wrong about it in hindsight, heh.
Saw this yesterday with my 16 year old son...his pick (chosen before Significant Other announced closing).
We adored it. A little long before it grabs you, and yes, Noel Coward may be hard to relate to now, but we had a lovely afternoon .
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
