I was wondering if anyone knew if the unsold premium $399-$424 tickets that are unsold at that price at some point on the evening before or day of, get turned into regular $199 tickets for purchase... can anyone confirm or deny this? Thank you...
Buying tickets at Telecharge is apparently no longer an option. The "Find Tickets" and "Pricing and Schedule" tabs are disabled. Never seen that before. Is the run simply all sold out now?
I bought a $49 "rush" ticket for the 8pm Wed show on March 1st by showing up at the box office at 7:55pm on a whim. I asked for Dress Circle and was given B106. I was thrilled! :)

I say try and observe the ticket prices for this week. I was looking for tickets in April for a friend and the show is selling out. Balcony is almost nonexistent. There's only 4 weeks left so we'll see what will happen. A month ago yes, it was quite easy to get a ticket for less than $100 to see this show.
Thank you all for your responses, but I'm still a bit confused, as I'm aware these unsold get reduced in price 24ish hours to showtime, do they actually pop up on Telecharge/Hudson theatre website? Or only in person at the theatre... I'm going to NY April 7-9, and beyond the Sat mintinee of DEH, I'm wide open for the fri or sat eve shows or sun matinee... think I'm safe to wait and purchase the one ticket in person? I'm hoping to score a better orch ticket for $199ish than what's currently available...
brdwybound04 - Well Friday - Sat evenings are probably the most sold on broadway - followed by Sunday matinees. So it really is going to depend on what kind of a weekend it is and what the ticket inventory is like by then. Like I said, I scored front row seats (off the hudson Theatre website) the day before. But, that being said, that will be near the end of the run for Sunday, and the Hudson is a small theatre so if you have your heart set on wanting to see it, I wouldn't advise waiting and hoping to score better priced tix.
If it was something else (i.e., my other favorite on Broadway right now - Sunset Blvd) - with a mamoth theatre, and a run going till the end of June, you could definitely wait and would end up finding something a bit discounted... but with Sunday that is quite a gamble that I'm doubtful you'd be successful at.
Not to make this more difficult for you, especially if finances make it prohibitive - I would not miss Sunday if you can help it. I treated myself that Saturday afternoon I went to see it and am still thrilled that I did (and have been trying to see if I could swing a return visit)
God I wish this would extend. I know so many people who would kill to see it, but can't be there during it's very short run. The show would probably continue to sell, but I think the fact that they aren't extending has a lot to do with Gyllenhaal's availability. I hope BroadwayHD records it at least.
Thanks chernjam! Yes not sure I can afford anything above the $199 price point... that weekend I spent $203 on Dear Evan, $189 for Sunset BLVD, $169 on Great Comet... I can't miss it, I saw the 08 Broadway revival and loved every minute, Jake In Sunday is a must for me and the highlight of my trip... I'm well aware I can book in advance, I'm just hoping and wishing waiting until closer might give me something better for that price than what's currently available... but it's definitely a major gamble... run concludes 4/23... and limited inventory as it stands... however I only am looking for a single ticket...
I think you could have waited on Sunset and Great Comet given I've seen both on TKtS and todaytix almost every day nowadays (plus Sunset had $99 rush tix for orchestra seats.) I've never seen Sunday in the Oark on TKTS whatsoever
As for Sundayin the Park with George, I looked at your dates and I think Sat matinee is your best bet to see discounted pricing later on as I saw a lot of premium seats available for sale that day. Either way good luck!!!
