Does anyone know of any resources for full musical scores (including dance, incidental, etc.) in MIDI format? Ideally, I'd like to have the complete orchestration in MIDI format. I have already found lots of single songs, but I can't find any full scores. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Well, I wasn't suggesting that they should be illegal. I was hoping maybe MTI or another company may have them available to purchase as an add-on when you perform the show or perhaps they were available for purchase in a legitimate way.
Even the companies that have electronic accompaniment only rent it to you for the length of your contract. Giving or selling it only makes it easier for people to mount unlicensed productions.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The licensing companies don't have orchestrations as MIDI files, let alone for purchase or rental.

MTI has several "virtual orchestra" options. You'll find them under "Production Resources" on their website and it includes their OrchExtra program (in partnership with Realtime Music Solutions, the company behind the Sinfonia program where someone literally taps the tempo on a keyboard to control the program), Performance Accompaniment CDs (which seem to mostly cover their TYA titles), and RehearScore Plus.
Realtime Music Solutions has also worked with the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization on their InstrumentalEase program to deliver virtual orchestras for some of their more popular titles as well.
That being said, these are all tied to the performance licenses, and you will not be able to just go and purchase them without having the license for that show.

Those are different than full scores as MIDI files, but if that's essentially what the OP was looking for then cool.
