I'm going to be seeing a 54 Below performance in February with a friend, and I was wondering what to expect?

I'm seventeen and going with my eighteen year old friend, so we can't really drink - do we have to get spend a certain amount of money while we're there?

Also ; do you get to meet with the performer after? Is that common? Obviously the performance is the most important part, it's just always a treat to meet with them after for a thank you and/or a picture and/or an autograph. :)

There's a $25 food/beverage minimum at 54 Below

You need to have a $25 food and beverage spend per person.  Since you can't drink alcohol, you can just order food or sometimes we just order desserts (if it's a late show).  Remember that you will be seated in tables with other people.  And since seats don't get allocated till you arrive, maybe arrive slightly earlier and you might get seated at better tables.

Artists seem to congregate by the bar area after a show (I can't say all, but quite a few that I've seen whenever I've visited from Australia).  I've managed to get photos with Jennifer Holliday and Andy Mientus, for example. It's a small venue so it's intimate and all seats are great.  Have fun! I'm going back to NY in May and I've already booked two shows there, hoping for more when they are announced.

They do have a few non-alcoholic drinks on their menu as well. And you can probably get a regular soft drink too. As long as your bill is $50 between the 2 of you,  you should be fine.

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited - I've seen Brandon Uranowitz twice and this would be my third time, he's so talented and I'm really excited!

Looking at prices, it doesn't look like it'll be too hard to spend $50 on food and drinks. ??

There's some fun shows coming up at 54 Below next month. I really want to see the Demi Lovato show!

I really hope that you enjoy yours!! :)

The artists may linger at the bar after the show. Regarding meeting them, you have the best chance with the show that goes on last that night. Because at the end of earlier shows they need to ask people to leave so they can prepare the next show.

As Marianne2 said you just need to total $50 between the two of you. Yes, it's really easy to rack up with the prices there.

I always have a good time at 54 Below and I usually teetotal when I'm there (no alcohol just food or non-alcohol drink). Enjoy!

I just saw Norm Lewis' Xmas show and he did a meet and greet in the bar after! He's so nice! Basically, I walked out of the Ladies' Room after the show and he was right there! We had bar rail seats.  Anyway, I love 54 below! The food isn't fabulous, but I love their plantain chips and guacamole.  Great to split and their guac is surprisingly good. The food is $$$ so you probably won't have trouble getting  to minimum.  Usually I eat before I go and get the plantain chips and a drink and that covers it. Have fun!
