No to Charlie. Although the Charlie that will be on Broadway is supposed to be different. But, the current Charlie is not worth it.
The Entertainer got meh reviews.
here's the constant refrain - The Play That Goes Wrong (although it's coming to Broadway this spring?) or The Comedy About the Bank Robbery (but study the seating guide from theatremonkey.com).
In The Heights comes highly recommended at Kings Cross (I haven't seen it).
Moby Dick will be at the (new) Union Theatre and could be quite the kick.
A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer at the National could be worth a look.
I would highly recommend the West End production of In the Heights. The Kings Cross theatre is much more intimate than the Richard Rodgers and the cast is impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the cast members there in West End will be in the West End production of Hamilton, which is due to open next year (In the heights is closing January 2017.) I bought my ticket from TKTS for 25GBP and got 5th row seats!
Ragtime's preview started yesterday, so it might be soon to get reports. It's an actors-musicians thing, if you are into this kind of concept. Lazarus is supposed to be good!
I've already seen ITH on Broadway and I liked it but I didn't love it (I know, I know, sacrilege). But since it's playing Tuesday matinee and few other shows are...
Thank you for your suggestions everyone! Keep them coming!
I suggest Lazarus! I saw it in NY last year. I'm going to be in the UK in November and am checking it out again (along with Heights, Dream Girls, Side Show, The Last Five Years and Murder Ballad).

No worries. I just suggested it because it's a broadway production but set in an off-bway or off-west end theater (if that makes any sense.) The theater is tiny as I believe the max is 300-400 people so vantage point and experience may be different from the time you saw it at the Richard Rodgers theater in Broadway.

Aww shucks, I'll be missing most of the shows you mentioned by just a week! Oh well, great pound /dollar exchange rate means an excuse to come back next year.
I just saw the second preview of Ragtime and I quite liked it. Some bits were a little rough because it's so early on (and apparently only the second time they've done the show all the way through, the first time being the first preview on Saturday) but I'm sure they'll fix all of those things by opening night as they were mostly just little hiccups. Ragtime is my favorite musical, and I've seen both Broadway productions in New York, along with the MCP production a few years ago. I think this one is worth seeing as it's so different from any other way I've seen it done. I will say though that I thought the Coalhouse and Sarah were weak vocally, but the Mother and Tateh more than made up for it (sorry I'm mostly new to West End theatre and don't know actors' names).
Resurrecting this post. I'll be in London mid-January any suggestions are appreciated. I already have tickets for Hedda Gabler but other than that open to suggestions.
An inspector calls is a classic and All the Angels - Handel and the First Messiah really intrigues me. The problem is that most of the shows that will run on January haven't opened yet, so no reviews... I'd keep an eye on Art the Old Vic, Dreamgirls and Death Takes A Holiday: Charing Cross Theatre productions are excellent
