I think "Spring" is all I've heard.

Shall we start some casting rumours?

It is apparently going into the Piccadilly after Jersey Boys closes, so probably opening late April/early May next year.

It was an over produced mess in Leicester, with a forgettable score. Broadway version was truly dreadful, with an even worse score. What could have been a great piece of theatre, ruined by the Weinstein touch.I won't be bothering again.

Each to their own ... I thoroughly enjoyed the show. And the few times I did see it - audience response was fantastic ... with many balling their eyes out by the finale.

Will be interesting to see what response it gets in the West End.

With Jeremy Jordan I really enjoyed it.  Not so much with Morrison.  It would be cool if they got Jordan to do it.

Wasn't there that rumor where Jeremy was promised he could bring the show to London?

I though that Matthew Morrison was excellent as the lead. His character started the show as a solum introvert and then gradually finds his playful side as inspiration from the young family he meets. Being so used to seeing him the up beat happy go lucky teacher on glee it was refreshing see him more low key in this.

It got a great response from the audience when I saw it too.

I've seen a lot of Broadway productions and leaving the theater I didn't feel at all underwhelmed by what I saw.

The best I've ever seen?  No.  But definitely not the worst.

And certainly not as bad as it was being made to seem on the BW NY boards.

It certainly seemed though that the biggest thrashing it got usually had more mention of the producer than the show itself.  When posters started seeing how true that was, and realizing that little was being said about the show itself, they suddenly started bashing the show itself.  But IMO it was too late.  It was originally (and largely) made to appear that it was the peripherals surrounding the show that irked people more than the show itself.  When the critiques started aiming themselves more at the show, it wasn't convincing.  And even then, it still seemed to drift back to the producer rather than the show.

Alfie Boe has stated he will now not be available for the show.

It was due to open in May/June 2017 but Boe is now unavailable as he is performing with Katherine Jenkins in the ENO's staging of Carousel.

Daily Mail reports

"The Broadway musical Finding Neverland, by James Graham and Gary Barlow, had been expected to open at London’s Piccadilly Theatre in the late spring/early summer.

However, producer Harvey Weinstein wants to delay the opening till late autumn.

Weinstein’s mother Miriam passed away recently, and the producer has told close friends he couldn’t ‘tap dance through putting a show on’ so soon after her death."

While that is sad for him losing a mother, that  is traumatic, I was hoping that it was not a case of waiting for Alfe Boe.

Alfie certainly could sing the role but I don't think he was up for the physicality of it.

Sorry about the death of Weinstein's mother.
