With Tamron Hall just now, Ben Jealous just endorsed Clinton because of DWS' departure.

Donna Brazile is a very good choice.

DWS did her job as DNC chairperson. She stacked the cards in Hillary's favor. That was obvious from the very beginning. She is the poster child for what's wrong with the system. What is most interesting is how the emails were obtained and if there are others.

Both Debbie and Rancid Pubes have way overstayed their welcome. These positions, on both sides, used to be 1-2 year positions. Both party chairs are now at 5 years (and counting for Reince). Fresh blood is needed.

So glad she gone.  She always seems very unprepared when ever on TV. I am sure she is a smart lady but she came across as not so smart.

I am sure she is responsible for that giant 8 foot wall around convention, Talk about a bad image, especially when knocking Trumps wall.

Glad Donna Brazile is the new one.  She seems to be on the ball.  Mrs Brazile, Tear down this wall!!

She's not that smart and has been an embarrassment to my district for many years.  My one experience seeing her was when I took the time to attend a rally of hers many years ago.  The people in the audience were all very old.  She was taking questions and I was in the middle of the gathering, easily the youngest there in my 40's, maybe the only one who could stand up straight.  She refused to call on me and it was obvious she didn't want to answer what might be a tough question.  Instead she called on the old folks there and pandered to the pro Israel crowd.  She never came across particularly bright when being interviewed.  Did her running the DNC have any effect on the nomination?  No way!  Bernie lost fair and square.  I've noticed more the Bernie or bust group lately, and they make me ill.

It seems like a mistake for DWS to still be gavelling each convention session in and out of order.  Surely she can delegate this task to someone else and avoid having video of her being booed played over and over on air and online.  For that same reason, I hope that Hillary doesn't namecheck DWS in her speech, either.  Time to move on. Without DWS.

Marcia Fudge of Ohio has been named permanent convention chair. She will gavel the sessions in and out, not Debbie.

Oh!  Good to know.  I was just watching a DNC press conference a few minutes ago while making breakfast and they were asking Robby Mook if the Clinton campaign was comfortable with DWS gavelling the sessions.  So, this is confirmed?  That DWS is not appearing at all?  There seem to be conflicting reports out there still.

From CNN:

"As Party Chair, this week I will open and close the Convention and I will address our delegates about the stakes involved in this election not only for Democrats, but for all Americans," [DWS] continued.

Earlier in the day, a Democrat close to the talks told CNN that she would not appear on stage, but Wasserman Schultz and her allies persisted, and she is now expected to appear Monday afternoon. But her schedule still remained subject to change.

I think Bernie Sanders would be horrible for our country and would get trounced by Trump in election so I am happy for the result of Hilary as the winner.

But it is just horrible what the DNC did in stacking the decks against him and I do not blame the Berniacs for crying about this. They are supposed to be impartial judges, referee or umpire. Hopefully Mrs Clinton will not be linked by this stink. This is why people do not trust politicians, why they think their vote does not count and why outsiders like Trump and Bernie are so popular. I have to think what they did is illegal and DWS does deserve to be fired but I cannot believe she did that all by herself. Like has been noted she is not that smart.

HorseTears,

Cleveland.com is reporting that Fudge has been named permanent convention chair and will gavel the sessions. However, as you note, there appear to be conflicting reports. That said, Debbie's statement was made yesterday, and we all know how much can change in 24 hours. I guess we will find out at 4 o'clock.

DWS was terrifically bad at the job during the last year, which is mostly about public relations and optics- which she continuously bungled. I don't know very many people who don't feel the same way, regardless of who they supported in the primary.

The idea that the Russians were behind the hack, though, is a terrifying thought- which exists separately from the content of the emails that were released. Far more a matter of concern for me than the emails, by far.

Interesting read on Politico where they're reporting that White House aides were urging Obama to get rid of DWS this past Fall, but that Obama didn't want to deal with the fall out and left it for the eventual nominee to deal with.

I'm not big on conspiracy theories.  Nevertheless, I'm not convinced that the Russians were ever involved.  Someone most likely hired a "fixer" who planted the story in the MSM and coached all concerned to stay on message.  The convention's underway, so it's show time.

DWS is running out of options as a DNC operative.  Hillary named her "honorary" chair of her campaign's 50-state program.  Considering how others in the party view her, she 's most likely acquired a treasure trove of closely-guard party secrets  The last thing the party wants is for her to pen a tell-all book and go on tour before the upcoming election. Aug 30 is a critical date in this sordid affair.  If she's primaried out of the House, hell hath no fury like DWS scorned.  I hear that publisher Judith Regan is looking for a comeback.  And folks, you have to see the website at Regan Arts.  I'm serious...please check it out.

On another note, her primary challenger Tim Canova is finally starting to play hard ball.  So, grab a big bowl of popcorn and your favorite beverage

So your response to a conspiracy theory is... another conspiracy theory?

It's being investigated by the FBI and the House Intelligence Committee has been briefed, so the proper channels are taking it seriously. As they should be.

It appears that you're characterizing the current account as a conspiracy theory as well, or I'm an misreading your response.  It's encouraging that at least one of us has full faith in the FBI and HIC being honest brokers.

Well, by literal definition, it is a conspiracy theory. Just because I find it plausible doesn't mean it's not one.
