I am going to Stars in the Alley this week and I want to get there early to make sure I have a good spot to see/hear everything.

1) Does anyone have any idea how early I should arrive based on past years' experiences?

2) Could I bring a chair for while I'm waiting?  I could fold it up for the actual performance but I'd like to be comfortable while I'm waiting.

I went last year and got there about 7am but it started earlier and there was about 2 people there as well.. They had the ally blocked off until about 930 show starting at 1030 and then they let you inside   closer to the stage.. But be careful l some people got there after me but ran faster to the front.  But it is such a fun day cant wait until tommrow

I saw the Stars in the Alley video of "All I Ask of You," from "The Phantom of the Opera," sung by the outgoing Christine (Julia Udine) and the brand-new Raoul, Jordan Donica.

Jordan Donica blew me away. What an amazing baritenor voice! What stage presence! (I guess it helps that he is six feet and four inches tall). What crush-material looks! (He reminds me a bit of a young Brian Stokes Mitchell). I'll bet the man-to-man conflict is palpable in his scenes with the equally charismatic James Barbour as the Phantom.

If POTO runs long enough, I'm sure we'll get to see Jordan Donica in the title role; right now, he's probably too young.

Audrey, the Phantom Phanatic, who nonetheless would rather be Jean Valjean, who knew how to make lemonade out of lemons.

Highlights of the event for me were seeing the three Allisons perform the finale of Fun Home and Jennifer Simard performing "Never Can Say Goodbye."  I missed Disaster unfortunately but am so thankful I got to see her on Friday.

How long does the concert usually last?

I think I read somewhere that this year's concert should run from 1-2:30, but I could be wrong. It might have been longer last year (I know the 2017 concert is later than last year's).
