I'm going to be spending a few days in the city in a couple weeks and want to get in as many shows as possible. I have the TodayTix app and have been searching rush policies and discounts (college kid). Who's used the app or other discount sites or done lotteries/rush for shows? What was it like? Were there very few tickets available? I'm going to be in town Wednesday-Friday if that helps and am interested in any of the following shows;
Book of Mormon
Curious Incident
Fiddler on the Roof
Fully Committed Fun Home
Hamilton
The King and I
She Loves Me
Tuck Everlasting
Waitress
Any reviews of these shows would be awesome to, I want to know what people thought of them! Thank you!
I won the She Loves Me TodayTix lotto on a Tuesday, for a single ticket. I've won the Fun Home lotto 3 times, twice during the week and once on a Saturday. The one on Saturday was for 2 tickets, others were for singles. I won the BoM Twitter lottery on a weekday.
I've also won The Crucible lottery twice, both for Saturday performances, and I've won for Matilda as well, for the weekday.
As for reviews:
I absolutely adored She Loves Me. I'm definitely going back to see it again. Fiddler was very very good as well. Fun Home is a must see. Hamilton...I mean c'mon haha.
I also suggest seeing The Color Purple if you're able to. Brilliant show, Cynthia Erivo cannot be missed. She's giving everything right now.
My family and I have won the lottos for Book of Mormon (digital), Hamilton (digital), Fun Home, Curious Incident.
Rushed Fiddler recently on a Sunday around 12 or 12:15. If you're under 32, i believe the age is, you can get an excellent advanced seat for King and I for $32, and student tix for Tuck Everlasting and Fully Committed.. Waitress may be the only more difficult one to get if you do not want to spend near full price (besides for Hamilton, of course)
Has anyone won on a day where you enter the lotteries for more than one show, same performance time? I wonder if doing so would hurt your chance, thanks.
When I visit New York, I enter ALL the lotteries. Every performance. My friend usually does too and we usually win one a day between the both of us. We think it's because we are from a different ZIP code. So we may get some "extra" help as a visitor. But that's just a theory.
Oh, I forgot to mention which ones we have won: On Your Feet!, An American in Paris, Kinky Boots, Fully Committed and School of Rock. Fully Committed and School of Rock were for the same performance, so I just bought the tickets to Fully Committed and had friends pick it up. Updated On: 12/4/16 at 11:36 AM

The zip code theory is intriguing.
Is anyone else about to pull their hair out with Sweet Charity and Othello? I've entered for just about every performance and still no luck
I can't say that I am about to pull my hair out, but I have been entering for Othello. It's a hot ticket, I don't really expect to ever win it, as I have always had terrible luck with lottos (no joke, when I did Matilda in person, every single person who entered had their name pulled, even the people who had entered with friends that had already won, and I was literally the last piece of paper in the bag). I never really expect to win lotta, I get more frustrated when todaytix does rush tickets and they are impossible to get.
