My great-niece just turned 6. I want to take her to her first NYC live stage show. I can't really swing Broadway- even on TDF- and TKTS is still too much. I did a search on TDF under Shows for Children and Gazillion Bubble Show came up. I know it's been playing for ages. Has anyone seen it? Is it fun or would it be fun for a 6-year old girl? Any other show recommendations you have are appreciated!

This is the first show I take my grandchildren to when they are about 5 years old. That means I've seen it three times already and enjoy it very much. The kids do too and they keep asking if we can go back to see it again. Quite frankly I wouldn't mind doing it. It's an enjoyable show it runs a little more than an hour and it is quite entertaining. Not a Broadway show but lots of fun. Be sure to have your niece's picture taken inside the big bubble It's a Wonderful keepsake.

It is a lot of fun and they updated it a bit this past year. I got my picture taken inside the bubble! It was 20 bucks. You can get more than one person in the picture and they put it in a folder frame.

I agree that the Gazillion Bubble Show is lots of fun and i'm sure your great-niece will enjoy it. You may also want to look into another off-Broadway show called "That Physics Show". It has lots of really fun demonstrations that are intriguing to see even if you don't know the physics behind them - it's definitely enjoyable for kids as well, and it is considerably cheaper than Broadway shows.

This won't help if you are looking to go fairly soon, but Theatreworks does their Free Summer Theatre at the Lortel in July and August. I believe this summer will be Junie B's Essential Survival Guide to School.
