It's too soon. And then how is enjoying a great regional life.
(then again, it was too soon for a COLOR PURPLE revival, yet they made that work)
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I could even get behind giving Leavel a shot at Mrs. Tottendale, but not the Chaperone. Been there, done that, won a Tony for it. Burstein is even an intriguing choice for Man in Chair, but again, no need to relive the past.
Carol Channing as Mrs. Tottendale. No acting required at this point!
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
What ever happened to the Drowsy Chaperone movie? There were reports that Geoffrey Rush had involved and Fred Schepisi was going to direct. Rush was going to play Man in Chair after playing the role on stage, and other Australian actors were rumored to be joining the cast.
Megan Mullaly is about 10 years too old for Janet, not that she would have ever been right for it anyway. She'd make a great Chaperone though. I also love the Sherie Rene Scott idea.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
