Apparently she is having a concert on CBS tonight and they are going to be playing football and she got Coldplay to open for her!

I'm expecting either a pregnancy announcement, tour, or album from Beyonce.

Well she did announce a tour via her commercial. And it's called Formation, so I'd imagine an album release is within the next few weeks/months much like Rihanna.

ICYMI, this is the reason the tour's called 'Formation'...

(interestingly, the video's unlisted on YT, meaning you can only see it if you have the direct URL.  I suppose that's in aid of the song being a Tidal exclusive, because, apparently, Tidal's still a thing)

"Ecccccch.  I lasted one minute."

That was my reaction to her contribution to the halftime show.  Too much Sasha Fierce...not enough Bey.  Unfortunately her dancers upstaged her due to their sheer number and the fact they were all fitter.  Now, I love myself a woman with an hourglass figure (and ain't down with fat shaming) but her costume made her look doughy.  I don't suspect that was the effect she was going for. The song lyrics border on juvenile as well.  I just expect so much more from her at this point in her career.

Genius helped me out with some of the lyrics.  It's all pretty meh, though.  Nothing new here from her.  And, oy, that intentional vocal fry in the first half of the song bugs.

When I saw Beyoncé on her last tour, she was a dead-eyed robot going through the motions, clearly over the whole thing. I hope she rests up for her upcoming shows, the poor woman works too hard.

She was great tonight, though.

I had no trouble picking up the lyrics.  That's why I was like...wtf...at the Super Bowl. The song is self-indulgent tripe that does nothing to up her artistry.  No one of her stature in the industry should be concerned with so-called "haters".  I don't bother with the video.  I saw enough during halftime.  Perhaps she should follow Dubya's suit and take up painting.

I didn't see her Superbowl performance, but I watched the video.

I've always thought she was a skank. I can't recall if she has ever been added to the skank tank here.

IMHO Beyonce marching out in formation with her fierce black panthers and singing a black power anthem on the field of the Super Bowl WON THE NIGHT!

And that video gives me life!!

Did not care for her, Bruno, or the ex-Miss Goop at all.  Lady Gaga though was A-MAZE-ING!

He's too ashamed.

When I turned off the Beyonce video it was just because it wasn't for me.  Thanks to somebody on here complaining about Big Freedia years ago, I have seen BF live three times.  So there's nothing new to hearing her to ME.  But I'm not the target demo and I'm glad Beyonce is aiming at a specific audience and delivering them some consciousness.

I like Beyoncé. It cannot be denied that she is one of the most hard working and talented recording artists out there now. But in 24 hours I am kind of over her for now. Of course this was all planned. The song, video and halftime performance.  And tour announcement. It felt like one big Beyoncé promo and I wasn't really impressed.

I am not the biggest Coldplay fan and wasn't all excited when they were annouced as the halftime performers. I like their hit songs but haven't owned any of their cd's, until now. I love their new cd.  Heard it after they were announced for halftime and then was looking forward to their halftime performance.

I enjoyed them. Could have done without Uptown Funk and the new Beyoncé song. When she was announced I had hoped it would be just to sing the song she did with them on the new CD, which is a very good song. We didn't even get that. We got Beyoncé promoting her new music.

The press and internet are all abuzz over her performance, but for me, I enjoyed Coldplay more. Chris Martin looked like he was having a blast and then she came on and just sucked that energy out and almost made it the Beyoncé show. She had hers a few years back. (4 I think?).

Just my opinion.

Just give the world Love.

"Could have done without Uptown Funk and the new Beyoncé song."

That makes two of us.  I'm not the biggest Coldplay fan either but the group and accompanying marching bands/youngsters set the mood & pace perfectly for a fun family-friendly Super Bowl halftime show.  I was blown away by the color palette on display.  For a fleeting moment during the opening number I felt transported to a Disney version of Woodstock 2016 minus the drugs and free love, and I'm not a Disney kind of guy.  Could have been the Scotchsmiley

Then, the Uptown Funk brigade took the stage decked out in all-black leather/pleather which was a somewhat jarring color choice juxtaposed with others in proximity.  To me, their performance was ok but I personally find Bruno Mars somewhat challenged in the originality department.  His clique and he struck me as 90-s era Boys to Men parodying the Jacksons paying homage to James Brown.  I get that not every recording artist has to push boundaries.

Bey's performance felt rehashed to me.  We've seen it a thousand times.  Perhaps I'm becoming an old fuddy-duddy but I don't think a bootleg version of Big Freedia on a budget is appropriate for a Super Bowl halftime show.  So, Bey's performance did nothing for me.  But, I'm happy that a few of you found it entertaining and uplifting.  I've never been her target demo either.

I really can't get over what a big deal a performance by this person is. All these opinions which are posted, aired on TV, etc. Why is this important? Who cares?

I got tickets for her today after trying for over 4 hours :))

While I don't at all agree with her politically, especially with the Black lives matter bs, i still love her.
