Saw it today and thought I'd recommend it. Irreverent, convoluted, and ridiculous, if you liked Burn After Reading, this is in a similar vein. Performances are all great and the whole thing was seriously funny. Not much to say about it other than it's the most enjoyable movie in theatres at the moment.

Gonna see it later this evening.  In the mood for something lighthearted & whimsical.

Going tomorrow, really looking forward to it.

For me, I thought it was dull with a few laughs, some things worked others didn't. A huge disappointment.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Seeing HAIL, CAESAR! would certainly be preferable to having needles driven through my eyes, but that's about the impetus I'd be needing to bother with it.

I hear it's another all-white C-Bros movie.  Is that true?

Don't think a person of color appears anywhere, but it does have a Carmen Miranda type of female

See it for the dance number choreographed by Chris Gatelli.

I've read criticism that the movie's overdetermined.  Did you feel the same way, Corine?

Does Channing Tatum count as a person-of-color?

He's definitely colorful!  In the way John Turturro was when he played Jesus Quintana for the Cohens.

What didn't you like about the rest of the movie?  Do you really think it's worth paying the big prices for movies today just to see a dance number?

It is a strange film. I wanted to love it but I found it a mess. Great cast. Great dancers and sadly not a good film.

The Coen Bros are so quirky, it doesn't surprise me that it will divide audiences.

Chris Gatelli does an amazing scene with Broadway actors. Look for Tyler Hanes. For me, it was worth seeing the film for the dance number. There are a few funny moments but not the Coen's best film. Great cast, though!

So you are recommending people spend money to see that one scene?  It's that good?

I enjoyed it, it reminded me a lot of a serious man, although I found that film a lot stronger. But this film had some wonderful scenes. I love the holy men gathering to discuss the appearance of god in the Hail Caesar film. Both Channing Tatums musical number and Scarlett Johanson's Esther Williams scene, were spectacular old hollywood studio awesomeness.

Hm....I'm torn.   I liked, even loved, lots of the parts, but I can't say I loved it as a whole.  The end worked better for me than I expected it to.   A number of the performances (Tilda Swenson) were fab.

Don't think I'd reccommend for anyone not already a fan of their work.

I would rather have seen more of the Hobart story line

Tilda Swinton, along with Isabelle Huppert, is the best actress working today.
