So, I got my first non profit subscription with Manhattan Theatre Club this year. Usually they have good seasons but this one is shaping up to be not one of their best. Didn't enjoy Fool For Love (minus Nina Arianda's amazing as always acting.) Next one on my list was Our Mother's Brief Affair which, to say it wasn't good is putting it too kindly in my opinion. Next on the list is Prodigal Son. A show that doesn't seem to be worth seeing. I guess what I wanted to know is am I stuck or can I get some sort of refund. Normally, when it comes to MTC, if a show's deemed good (either by critics or word of mouth on here) I take advantage of their 30 under 30 offer and go see it. But, if I didn't have a subscription not sure I would have/do that for anything they have offered thus far. So, I wanted to know, am I stuck with the subscription?
I couldn't say and I didn't see anything on the MTC website but I did find this helpful FAQ.
IF I HAVE QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS, WHOM SHOULD I EMAIL?
If you would like to share your thoughts and feedback about MTC productions, please email ArtisticOffice@mtc-nyc.org. If you have a question about your subscription, or ticketing issues, please send a message to SubscriberServices@mtc-nyc.org, and a representative will reply as soon as possible.

Yeah, I just logged into my account and went to the subscribers FAQ page. Sadly they don't offer refunds on subscriptions but I am going to call and see if there's any exception to that or if it's a flat out across the board no.
But you're taking a risk when you buy any ticket to any show. You can't get a refund just because you didn't like the shows.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

And why have you already poo-poo'd Prodigal Son? Didn't you know what the shows were before you got your subscription? My only personal experience is with the ART, and I before they open subscriptions for the new year, they announce the entire season.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
LOL I think this is hilarious. Getting a refund for a subscription, and you've seen some of the shows? So you would get a partial refund? That's very strange that you think this would work.
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
No theatre will ever give a customer a refund just because they didn't like the show- and with that in mind, I hope you haven't contacted MTC about this already. Show your displeasure by not subscribing again, sure, but don't subject some poor ticket services person to having to hear you complain and demand a refund simply because you didn't like what you saw. As someone that has worked in these capacities, these types of customers are nothing but a headache.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
