Hello all.

We'll be back in London in April and hope to see a few West End productions.  Any recommendations?

We'd like to see non-American productions or at least shows that haven't played on Broadway, as we've seen all of them (or don't want to...)

On previous trips we were lucky enough to see the original War Horse and the original Matilda, and still remember those as some of the best nights we've ever had in theatre.

Any nominations for what we can see this time around?

MANY THANKS

The Play That Goes Wrong.  I think I've recommended this too many times, but whatever.  This supposedly is going to come to Broadway in 2017 - but you never know.

Sunny Afternoon - the Kinks biomusical.  I doubt it will come to the US.  We saw it before the West End transfer and loved it.

New shows which I have not seen:

Mrs. Henderson Presents just opened or is in previews.  But, got very positive reports from its run in Bath.

Kenneth Branagh will be on stage at the Garrick in The Painkiller.

and of course, you need to bookmark www.theatremonkey.com for invaluable seating advice

Well, it played on Broadway 20 years ago, but in April the ENO is staging a concert production of Sunset Boulevard with Glenn Close reprising her Tony Award winner role of Norma Desmond. The National Theatre has some cool shows in April, including "The Suicide", "The Flick" and "Les Blancs". And then there are Kit Harrington in Doctor Faustus, The Caretaker with Timothy Spall, Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre and Uzo Abuda in The Maids.
