I saw School of Rock on Saturday- and was in row 3 of the orchestra- no looking up from row 3 so I would imagine row 1 is fine- front row for King Charles III not good- I was in row 7 and was so glad I did not have row 1 because I noticed how high the stage was- btw, King CharlesIII is one of my favorite shows ever.
I didn't know if this question warranted a new thread, so this seemed the best place to ask - I've noticed the mezzanine seating of the Winter Garden is very asymmetrical, what is the reason for this? I'd love to see a ground plan of how the auditorium sits in it's building, but can't seem to find anything like that.

Row E is much further from the stage than Row E for most any other Broadway theatre, probably excluding the Gershwin and maybe the Beaumont. Also, depends on how far on the side it is. The sides get really terrible...in many seats, you have to bend your head quite a bit to see the stage. It’s mezzanine is really wide and curved. I love the Winter Garden because my first show at the WG remains my favorite, if not best musical (Mame), and I saw Follies there 5 times. But it sucks if you are too far on the side.

"Anything you do, let it it come from you--then it will be new."

I've seen pictures of the interior. That doesn't explain why it's asymmetrical.
