Kind of surprised that there are still so many discounts for ON YOUR FEET all over the web. While the reviews were mixed-to-positive, pretty much all the reviews were written with "Quote me" in mind, and usually after the opening those discounts are pulled. Sure the pr staff for OYF are busily pulling those quotes for full page Times ads, but wondering if that will do the trick. Thoughts?
My guess is there are a lot of pretty popular musicals old and new running so the competition is stiff. "Hamilton" is a runaway hit, "School of Rock" starts previews today and there are other popular musicals just like it (jukebox musical) in "Jersey Boys" and "Beautiful".
The show got mixed-to-positive reviews at best, I'd say, and they still have a pretty massive theatre to fill. The discounts are probably just there to support the show and keep the house full before the upswing for the holidays.
Also, just a note... School of Rock begins previews Monday!
