I cannot wait for Supergirl tonight! Finally a female super hero for all of us to love.
I saw the pilot earlier and Melissa Benoist is perfection! The NY Times even compares her to Kimmy Schmitt! Jeremy Jordon and Laura Benoist should add to the perfection too.
I do think its dumb to have it on opposite Gotham though. I just hope CBS gives her a chance to soar. They do seem to be behind it with all the publicity I have been seeing.
It was cute, well cast with a nice sense of humor about it. I hope that they make Flockhart's character more 3 dimensional because she is capable of pulling it off.
Strong follow up episode. Love how they show Kara adapting to Super Hero life and how the press and horrible politicians are already turning on her like in real life. I think SG is a lot more interesting than SM and not just because she is a girl, but because she was 13 when she came to Earth. She already grew up on Krypton and remembers it, unlike SM who was a baby. There is great story there in culture shock which I hope they explore because I can tell you it is scary and wonderful at the same time.
Calista Flockhart was a lot less annoying and is getting fleshed out. Love how she and Ruth Bader Ginsburg go out and get drunk together. Never thought i would see Laura Benanti in a fight scene but that was a blast!
Melissa Benoist picture should be on Wikidedia under adorable!
This show gets better and better every week. I love the triangle between James, Winn and Kara. It will get even more interesting now that Lucy Lane has arrived. Superman even made an appearance! Hopefully this will put an end to all the people asking why they never mention his name and if he will make an appearance.

" I think if you gave it one more chance, you would like it better. I think they have gotten most of that out of the way and are mostly explained now and have they have been moving forward with her story. I do wish it was not opposite Gotham though.
I sort of figured out that I liked The Flash more, and I stopped watching that since it was just a spandex procedural, so not sure... if it starts really nailing things down the road, maybe worth a revisit.
I loved the pilot, didn't like the second episode, did like the third. If I forget to dvr an upcoming episode I can see myself never picking the show up again.
I don't understand the purpose of the Jeremy Jordan character.

Why do they even need him for the love triangle (he loves her but she loves the other guy)? Instead, why not be the first show to introduce polyamory into a network show, especially as just as normal side story to her being Supergirl? And that is one hot devil's three-way...

" I think James is supposed to be more of a mentor and a helper. Winn loves her for her. Not for being Supergirl

It was originally going to be on CW, but i think CBS is trying to get younger so they took it away. I am just happy it is not CSI: National City!
Loved the pilot. Tried to like the second episode. Recorded the third and still have not watched it. Not a good sign if I don't care three episodes into the season.

That sounds like how the ratings for the show have gone, too.
Looks like Supergirl may have weathered the storm. Ratings were up from last week despite the rest of CBS being down! Also, Twitter Top Trend for the fourth consecutive week!
As for the episode, maybe the best one yet. It explored the backstory and sister relationship with Alex, and also was Calista Flockharts Cats best episode. Cat showed some true feelings, especially for Kara both in a mentor way and as a person.
Hubby and I love Supergirl! But hey, for those who don't, that's fine. Like Bugs Bunny says, "One man's meat is another man's poison." Personally enjoying and rooting for the show.
I've been really into this show since the pilot and I think the creators did a very good job with the source material the same way that helped The CW show The Flash a show the same creators worked on. At least this is WAY better than the movie version from the early 1980's.
