Apologies if there's already a thread for this but has anyone seen Company XIV's production of Cinderella? I thought it was brilliant and had some fantastic dancing. Any opinions on their productions of Nutcracker and Snow White?

Also, a random question. The programs they hand out say "Stagebill" but in the same Playbill font. Are they still produced by Playbill? What determines which shows get which programs?

I feel like there hasn't been too much buzz surrounding this on the boards and I cannot understand why. I finally got around to seeing the show which I was putting off because I hate burlesque. It was honestly a detriment for them to label it as burlesque because I was expecting something really cheesy and CINDERELLA was far from that. I think another problem was I expected it to be majority women in the company but there are a lot of men including my favorite SYTYCD contestant ever, Jakob Karr. Russell winning over him was a travesty and made me stop watching the show as religiously.

I loved everything about this production. Everything about it was super modern and sexy. I loved the song choices and the women singing them KILLED it especially the Fairy Godmother's version of "Born to Die" which was better than Lana Del Ray. The Prince was so hot (although not as hot as Jakob). The choreography was fantastic. The lighting was beautiful. There really wasn't anything I would have changed.

It's closing this week ahead of the NUTCRACKER return but go see it if you have a chance.

Playbill vs. Stagebill.

"Stagebill, in fact, used to be a separate company, but when it went out of business, Playbill assumed its trademark."

Bumping this thread because I'm curious if anyone has seen/is planning to see Nutcracker Rouge.

I LOVE Company XIV. I dont know why this season hasnt gotten more buzz for them. Though they have had to move theatres a couple times (first due to hurricane sandy damage, then a second time due to rising rent) and their lack of home base may have hindered buzz. But Minetta Lane is actually a great fit for their productions and Cinderella was incredibly entertaining. I cant recall the actress' name right now, but one of the step sisters sang the **** out of a baroque aria while doing an insane pole dance routine, in the air. Incredible.

I saw Nutcracker Rouge 2 years ago, and its definitely worth seeing. Especially if this style appeals to you at all. This years incarnation has already started (which I didnt find out til after previews began, so I again ask where their buzz is?) and I would highly recommend going. Im hopefully checking it out next week (as soon as friends get back to me on dates) so Ill try and report back if i see it soon.
