A brand new studio recording of the title song from the musical SHADOW ON THE SUN has recently been uploaded onto SoundCloud - so I thought some people on the Board may like to hear it.
“Shadow On The Sun” is a “Sci-Fi Musical-within-a-musical” (with music by Omri Lahav and book & lyrics by Jimmy Granstrom and me). While telling the story of drug-addicted Best-selling Sci-Fi novelist Jake Temple and the story of the book he is struggling to write - which is set in a world where a shadow on the sun forces everyone to live in perpetual darkness – the musical poses the question “does reality actually exist”?
The title song is the Act 1 Finale of the show, sung by Jordan (the hero of the novel) and by Jake (the novelist), performed for the recording by Michael Riseley (Les Miserables) and Keith Ramsay (Portia Coughlan, Dr Scroggy’s War, Julius Caesar, Billy and BBC’s Shetland & New Tricks).

Two songs from the show were featured on my album WORDS SHARED WITH FRIENDS (released on iTunes in April 2014 on the Auburn Jam label). A recording of the show's eleven o'clock number will be uploaded on Soundcloud soon and I'll post that on here as well.

For this recording, the role of Jake was sung by Oli Reynolds (Duncton Wood, Pacific Overtures) and the role of Jordan was sung by Kane Oliver Parry (Wicked, Urinetown, The Light Princess).
