Did anyone see opening night last night? Very interested to hear anything about it, as there has been virtually no promotion/pictures/videos about it.

Doesn't it begin 9/20? There have been a lot of posters around Los Angeles advertising.

I don't get how someone who loves theatre and doesn't live near Broadway would miss a national tour. It's the closest thing to have in common between all of us. The show is literally coming to us.

I am very excited to see another Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. I'm not obsessed with the movie (a lot of people are) so I will love it for what it is.

Perhaps some of us are students with little disposable income who have to pick and choose...

I have seen the itinerary for year 1, and Chicago is scheduled for June 7-19, 2016.

It's not on the tour or BIC website but it would fit within the Detroit and Denver legs. Wonder why it's not on the website?  Maybe they haven't figured out which BIC theater yet.

According to the itinerary, there's a two-week layoff following Detroit prior to Chicago.

They are sticking to the Original Broadway Version (also done in NBC Live!) I know the last 1998 Broadway revival included that song. If they added that song.. it would be more live the film version.

It wouldn't really be more like the film version because the dialogue and story structure would all the based on the 1959 stage script. The only difference would be the addition of one song from the film. Heck, they already have Something Good in place of An Ordinary Couple.

I am curious to learn what people thinks of this new tour. Honestly, I am not that keen on the cast, but might see this when it comes to my area.

Let's be honest, there are a lot of sub par tours that go out. Not every tour is a Broadway caliber production, and not every tour is worth the cost that is charged for a ticket.
