Pantomine[?] seems to no longer exist for children-except in England-so if this gets children and their parents into a theatre-then we can all rejoice as the long term benefits have a domino effect.
I don't think this will have anywhere near the success of Disney shows or Shrek. Both have very fleshed our narratives, with character arcs and a moral. Spongebob is much less developed typically. In addition. I think given the choice, most parents would rather take kids to Aladdin or Lion King than Spongebob.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

Typically, Songebob has not been a Broadway musical and we don't know what the book yet holds.

And most parents taking kids to Broadway musicals already have. That's why something new and different may be appealing. Not to mention the GINORMOUS built-in fan base. It may not be a question of "or" but of "and".
