As a big fan of  Spring Awakening I was not very interested in a revival so soon, but TDF just changed my mind for $51, with many dates available.

That's including the $4 service fee, so $47.  Weren't they like $41 not even a year ago?

I just checked TDF website (I'm not a member) and it said "

TDF MEMBER TICKETS:

NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS SHOW"
How did get it?

Thanks.

I don't think you can access the info without being a member.   I just logged in and saw what the op posted.

I just bought two tickets, so they are available. I do go to fewer shows nowadays because of the higher prices, both on TDF and other outlets.

The price increase is not a surprise. As ticket prices go up, TDF prices reflect this. Still  a bargain however .

TDF used to be a great, cheap way to see shows, but $51 is no long THAT inexpensive. Luckily the discount code applied to the rear mezz making the last two rows $39, which feels like what the TDF price used to be.

TDF used to be $29 for musicals which was a great deal. Over $50 is just ridiculous.

It's definitely more expensive than it used to be but it's still worth it, in my opinion.

So TDF may not be the cheapest ticket possible, but on the other hand, you won't be standing, and it's unlikely that you will end up in the very rear of the Mezz or Balcony. Most of the time, I find myself in TDF seats that otherwise would have been full top price seats - or if on TKTS would still have been more $$. Even with the TDF raise, it's often the best game in town.

gah! I wish I had seen this earlier, it seems like they are all gone already! (Of course the page is still listed as on sale, which seems to imply people are just holding the last few seats in their cart and havent checked out yet).

And regarding pricing: The tickets themselves are $47, which is what most Broadway shows on TDF are up to now. Though you will occasionally find cheaper ones (Wolf Hall was and Hand to God usually is by a few bucks). The $4 order fee bumps it to $51, but that order fee is the same whether you buy 1 ticket or 9.

I just tried clicking over and over again, and found 2 left for sunday 13th at 3. I just released them back to the wild since I have to work then =(

Their shopping cart system is slightly confusing since once you click the button its in there, and there is not an obvious "delete item" button on the page. So I think some users have the last tickets in their carts, otherwise the page wouldnt be on the current offers. They have 30 minutes to complete the purchase, so perhaps the last ones will be released. Lets all keep clicking! haha

Thank you for not missing the opportunity to bemoan raising ticket prices.

I'll actually agree with Roxy. It's sad that I'm blocked so he'll never see it unless he opens his eyes since he's never actually blocked anyone but I'm still blocked. But anyways - The standard cost for Orch. tickets is now at around $150 for new musicals and that's before the Christmas season jacks them up even more, which happens every year. When the very back of the mezz for some shows costs almost a hundred bucks, that really is just ridiculous.

I hate to burst your bubble but I was not bemoaning as you say. I was stating a fact that prices are rising and tdf prices reflect those increases. Spin it however you like

I really do not care. Unless we see a show via the discount route we do not see if. It is not any more complicated. We really do not care how much they go up as we are not effected.  We do not go nearly as much as we did , say, 10 years ago. Somehow we survive..

All in all, it is still a great value.

It is so typical that some TDF members kvetch about how much of a discount they are getting. Ditto for members of papering organizations. Bottom line is, if the price is too low, producers will not send tix to TDF at all. Would you kvetchers prefer that?

Have a better source for cheaper tickets? Use it. Can't afford tix? Don't go. TDF is an option, not some sort of entitlement.

^Amen.  I pay about 20 bucks for my membership (I'm in the long distance category) so if I buy ONE tix from TDF it's worth my membership.  I probably use them 5 or 6 times a year, and often for more than one ticket.

$50 is still often a third of the face value of the ticket, sometimes half...dependent on where your seats are.

I checked the TDF website and I couldn't find anything about long distance category for membership. Do you have a direct link? Many thanks.
