Is Roundabout ever on TDF or Today Tix? I would love to see Old Times but man, even the cheap seats are getting costly these days. Going to the theater this often really adds up.

Are there any workaround or discounts for Roundabout that I'm unaware of?

Thanks in advance and apologies if this was addressed elsewhere.

Roundabout does general rush, student rush, and Hiptix (their youth membership program).

On a related note:

I am bringing a group of high school actors across the country into NYC next month, and I would love for them to see some Pinter.  Problem is, I teach in a fairly conservative and religious community and I am afraid this play might cause some parent complaints.  But I don't know for sure because I am not very familiar with this particular work.  Has anyone here read this script? Can anyone give me a heads up on the amount of profanity and sexuality in the show?

Thanks in advance.

WOW. Thank you, abbagirl! I had not heard of Hiptix until now. What a great deal!

I've used my HipTix Gold membership for two seasons now so I NEVER pay full price for a Roundabout show. There are good deals all over the place for their productions.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." Roundabout shows do show up sometimes on Today Tix and TDF though. It just depends on how well that particular show is selling.

Mr.JNLong -  I am familiar with Old Times.  Parents would probably complain about the show. There is good information about the play on Wikipedia.  Also, I'm not sure Old Times would appeal to high school students. There is little physical action in the play.  What are you taking your students to see?

I'd say it is a PG-13 kind of play.

I'm not sure how high schoolers would react to this play.  Shakespeare Theatre has good educational videos about OLD TIMES on Youtube:

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
