I recently watched dead poets society and I thought to myself "this would make a great musical!" Do you guys think it would work??

It would work if the right composer is involved. Maybe Lachiusa or Tesori.

I can't see it as a musical, but I think a play version would work.
For some reason, I thought that it was a play made into a movie, but it's an original film - not adapted from any source material.

Anything can work if it's done well.
The list of shows that shouldn't have worked but did is long and storied.
This particular movie doesn't even seem like that much of a stretch for musicalization.
