Both! I kinda want things that are obscure, interesting, wild and crazy like The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Vocal range doesnt matter. Everything sounds good in my voice :)

Sing a mash up of The Queen of the Night Aria and Ol' Man River in their original keys and see if it sounds good in your voice. Everyone has a vocal range, what is yours?

Even consumate vocal professionals know not everything would sound good in their range or is appropriate for their voice.

What is "obscure"?  Given Phil's nonadvanced age, there likely is a world of scores with which he is not familiar.  Has phil made it through the R&H catalog?  Cy coleman? Lerner & Lowe?  I never would have discovered Baby without this board.  Phil should just start with each tony nominated score since 1949.

ggersten, yes of course i know those composers. In fact, i go all the way back to the 1800s with Puccini and Verdi
