It's a great score but with some lyrics that are hair-raisingly "of the period". The hit song was "I'm Just Wild About Harry", but I can't wait to see what George C. does with "Bandana Days".
It definitely sounds more like a LADY DAY situation. A play strictly speaking, that just happens to feature music because it's about musicians and a musical.
When I first saw the headline I thought it was a bona fide revival of the show itself!
Fabulous! This combination of extremely talented people working together on this material to create an intelligent Broadway entertainment is exciting to me.
I like the idea a lot. I think Audra is pretentious and overrated, but this seems like a really fascinating piece. And George C. Wolfe ain't no slouch.
