Joe Franklin RIP

Joe Franklin, the pioneering radio and TV personality nicknamed King of Nostalgia and credited with creating the modern-day talk show, died Saturday.

He was 88.

Franklin, after getting his start as a record librarian at a city radio station, rose to become one of the biggest names in entertainment.

Quite a life. I join Mr Roxy in noting that 2015 is turning out to be as bad as 2014 for celebrity deaths.

I used to love his TV show. Many a late night watching him gush over aging Broadway Stars! RIP!
