Whistle Down the Wind will be presented at the Union Theatre from January 28th- February 21st. It's not the Andrew Lloyd Webber version but the version by Russell Labey and Richard Taylor, based more closely on the novel by Mary Hayley Bell and the movie written by Willis Hall & Keith Waterhouse and directed by Bryan Forbes.
The production at The Union will be Directed by Sasha Regan with Musical Direction by David Griffiths, design by Nik Corrall and Lighting Design by Tim Deiling.
The cast includes the wonderful Alex James Ellison (Apartment 40C, Best Of Friends) plus Callum McArdle, Grace Osborn, Chris Coleman, Kathyrn Hamilton-Hall, Danielle Morris, Romero Clark, Bryan Hodgson, Oliver Stanley, Sebastion Thomas, Joshua Lewindon, Harry Wright, Edward Crann, Sarah Kate Howarth, Imelda Warren-Green, Ana Richardson, Molly Steere and Donna Marsh.

I saw this last Sunday - and it was a bit special! Such a powerful, charming and beautiful piece of musical theatre, superbly and effectively staged in the intimate space by Sasha Regan. And the performances are all outstanding - the young actors playing the 3 leading kids roles (Grace Osborn, Alex James Ellison, Imelda Warren-Green) are particularly brilliant.
Still a few weeks left in the run - I would suggest that anyone who can possibly get to the Union during its run does not miss this!
