Alan Alda & Candice Bergen will start performing in Love Letters on Broadway this Sunday. Anyone else have tickets yet? I'm going Tuesday! Love Letters Broadway Ticket Info
vernon...that's exactly what I thought when I saw this with Carol and Brian Dennehy...I would have loved to see the combo of Burnett and Alda, not sure why they didn't go that way.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.
"Emmy Award-winning actors Alan Alda and Candice Bergen, who joined the cast of the Broadway revival of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters Nov. 9 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, have extended their stay with the production.
I saw them yesterday. I am probably the biggest Alan Alda fan ever so this was definitely the production that I wanted to see. I can see how each of the actors could bring something different to the parts but I thought both he and Candice B were wonderful. The hour and a half just flew by. And they had a lovely rapport and rhythm together.
I think I would have enjoyed seeing a lot of the different women in this part. But there is something about Alan that just gets me from the first moment he opens his mouth and looks outwards at the audience and this production did not disappoint.
I didn't wait around at the stage door - it was a matinee and I wasn't sure they would come out between shows (and it was too cold to wait outside anyway). But I would like to go back if I get a chance with my original playbill from both The Apple Tree as well as this one.
The show was not sold out.. but almost. However, I was able to get a rush ticket with no line at all. At 10 am, there was just me and one other couple. Row F orchestra, towards the side but full view. Perfect.
