COZI TV (check your local listings) shows two episodes of Lucille Ball's last TV series (that lasted more than 6 months) every afternoon at 4pm. I happen to be home from work today and am delighted to see that the 4:30 (eastern time) episode today features "gender illusionist" Jim Bailey as Phyllis Diller. And it was shot a mere 4 years after Stonewall.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
I was hoping you'd know who choreographed Lucie and Jim Bailey.
Funny that you should ask. I've always been curious about him.
He was a Hollywood actor and choreographer named Jim Bates, who did a few numbers for Here's Lucy, some Disney shows, and was a regular on Father Knows Best.
But he started out as a boy actor (working under the name Jimmy Bates) and is in Singing in the Rain. He is also the boy who watches Fred Astaire throughout this "Drum Cray number"
I came across COZI TV back in August. Didn't realize my cable system had it. Just in time for them to be bringing Here's Lucy on to coincide with the Lucille Ball Annual Comedy Festival. I was THRILLED! I hadn't seen the show in ages.
I was also excited to see they had Make Room For Daddy. It comes on at 6 and 6:30 p.m. ET. Most nights I walk in the door just in time to see one ep, if not both.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2."unleash the girly"
