I'll be in London in about a month and am REALLY hoping to see Urinetown. It seems like it is consistently at the TKTS booth, but I was wondering where these seats are usually located. Has anyone gotten tickets there recently? Thanks!

Not sure about tkts, but there is a real good advance booking discount here: http://www.lovetheatre.com/bargaintheatreland/dates/3912/URINETOWN-The-Musical

Click apply special offer, then select the seats discounted to £27.50 for the date you want. You can see them on seating plan. Have to book by Friday of this week though (for performances till the end of December)

That said, I expect the seats at tkts will be fine, as the show isn't selling particularly well.

Hi,
I also recommend the lovetheatre.com offer FireFingers posted. I was allocated central seats in stalls H, which was great.I think it was originally 58 pounds or something (the show isnt selling well.. it keeps getting discounted further and further)

Honestly because 40% of the show takes place on high set, I wish I had seen it from dress circle. If you have the choice & budget I recommend dress, but otherwise stalls is fine too. Just an occasional slight neckache.

Ooh! Thanks for that link. I'm going to be in London in a month as well and want to see the show, but had been planning on day seating (if that's an option??).

Thanks for the advice, guys! Question: I'm hoping for the best possible seat for the cheapest price (aren't we all?). So, do you think if I hold out for the tkts booth I would end up getting a better seat for about the same price, rather than doing this discount code now?

From this other discussion, sounds like you are better off with the lovetheatre.com offer. Or approach the box office day of the show. We got very good deals from the box office during our sojourn. You just need to be polite, smile and ask "is there anything you can do for me?" TKTS will discount top price tickets - which as some say are not the seats you want for this show. TKTS will also sell you full price tickets. But, there are lots of ticket booths to help out. And many of the West End theatres are so close to each other, it really is not too difficult to run from box office to box office.

Hi again =)
Yes, I always try to get the cheapest possible and best, but then that is because I live in London and can try out another day if not successful. If you're traveling to London (specially from far away) I would personally book in advance, on lovetheatre.com, just to be 1000% sure that it will be a worthwhile trip and avoid disappointment. Lovetheatre.com, unlike lastminute.com, tells you which seats you will be in at the time of booking so you're not in for surprises.

For example, saturday 22nd nov has 2nd price dress circle seats for 20 pounds.

Obviously you could try ticket booth or box office on the day, but my personal preference for a trip is to get everything sorted beforehand =)

I actually won't be in town for a Wednesday, unfortunately. You have all been VERY helpful so far. With the discount offered, I'm able to find Stalls Row N or Dress Circle Row E. Am I right in thinking Dress Circle would be better since much of the show is high on risers as you mentioned?

I went recently and my seat was 4th row Stalls, center. The show is on risers and farther back or dress circle would be great. It was kind of cool to be close up too…SPOILER ALERT!!!! but a guy in the first or second row at my performance needed to dry clean his shirt after though.

They do day seats for Urinetown for £20.00. Check out theatre monkey.

This show is so good! Oh man!!

I would suggest booking a discount that lets you collect from the theatre box office (like LoveTheatre does I assume) because they will move you closer. Last night again the guy working the b.o. retrieved my ticket, crossed out my seat (row R) and moved me to like the 7th row dead center.

I was there on Saturday evening and they closed the Dress and Upper Circle and relocated those ticket holders to the Stalls, which were still relatively empty even after moving everyone. This was a real shame as the show and the cast have deserved full houses.
