I bought the blu ray of the Broadway cast. It took me 4 goes to get through it. However this won Tony's, is beyond me. For me, it was very poor. I won't be bothering to book.

Will be seeing it on Friday - can't wait!

I saw it on Broadway and thought it was a fantastic show - a beautifully constructed book - both heartfelt and powerful. And the songs are pretty outstanding. A number of friends of mine have seen it already and said they were blown away by it.

Even more excited about seeing it in London with the awesome Killian Donnelly as Huey.

I saw this Saturday and yes Beverley was amazing and blew me away and was better than I thought she be.

However after seeing this several times in New York and thought the show is a brilliant piece of theatre, however this show has had a major heart attack somewhere over the Atlantic, the show is great, except the production values are very poor and this resembled more of a non equity bus and truck tour, I have seen many stripped back productions over the year and some of the time less is more, this isn't the case with Memphis and needs the big set.

Memphis has one of the best eleven o'clock numbers in theatre, except when it had me shuddering on Saturday.

I loved this show in New York, but left me cold in the West End.

Does anyone know if anywhere will be doing discounted tickets for this? The night I'm looking for has a lot of seats available, is my best chance just rocking up to the theatre shortly before doors?

Just saw Memphis at the Shaftesbury and I thought it was breathtakingly brilliant. Loved it even more than I did when I saw it in New York. So much energy from this fantastic ensemble cast. Beverley Knight sings the s**t out of the songs. And Killian gave the best performance I have seen on stage anywhere this year. THE best leading man performance currently on show in the West End IMO. He owned the stage every second he was on it - stage presence, star quality in abundance and his comic timing is sheer perfection. And his vocals were astonishing.

Back in my hotel now - and still buzzing after experiencing such a wonderful production of a great show.

Do they do day seats?

I got day seats on Tuesday. Queued from around 8.20am, first in line and no one else showed up before the box office opened. Front row center, amazing view. Row AA was removed, so plenty of room between seats and stage, plus the stage was pretty low. Absolutely loved the show.

Not seen the UK one and probably won't, the Broadway productions was fine....just fine, how it won the Tony is beyond me. The book is so not well constructed at all, it's simplistic and one note, the music is fine but nothing special. It's all just very ok in my opinion

Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

Saw this last week. Was OK - great performances by the cast, and they all sound great and gave it loads of energy. But have to admit I didn't find the story the strongest, and the set and costume designs both looked ridiculously cheap. 3 stars from me! Full review here...

I wonder how much was scaled for this production? The Broadway production def. wasn't cheap looking.
