No mention of the production itself or the other two fantastically talented actors in the play. Anybody else have strong opinions on the following hashtag? #TheLindsayLohanPlay

My opinion is that is essentially the entire point of this production, isn't it? Cast Lindsay Lohan in a play, and no matter how good or bad she is it will sell out, thus justifying any expense incurred in casting her. It's producing at its most shallow and yet most successful.
Everyone involved will make money; only Lohan will leave with her reputation changed, for better or for worse.
All i know is friends of mine who were sat in the stalls said it looked full to them. I have a feeling if this fails with the critics it wont be Lohan's fault, the production itself sounds weak
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
Anyone know how it has been selling? I want to see it Saturday but I expected to get cheap tickets - and I can't find any legit discount! Anyone had luck with day seats?
I got 2 tickets yesterday at about 11am, for the 3pm show. The balcony was closed, I think, and the mezz was fairly empty. Lots and lots of seats in the back of the orchestra, too. Always sad when a show doesn't sell well.
I actually didn't hate it. I think I actually enjoyed it. I thought Nigel Lindsay was fabulous (though I could see how great Norbert Leo Butz must have been) and Lindsay was fine. I had the understudy for Bobby and he really needs to work on his American accent. The play itself is the worst part, but that's Mamet's fault.
How long is the run? Isn't this an oddity in 2014, a revival with no stars in the leads, and a stunt in the third role? Did anyone really think Ms. Lohan would sell? I'm glad she's done well, and apparently hasn't missed a lot of performances. But a peculiar idea, in this year: this play, this actress, this town, this venue.

I think she chose the West End over Broadway because there are both less paparazzi in London as well as the fact that if she did a terrible job, American press wouldn't pick up the story as hard as if she bombed on Broadway. That's not saying West End isn't just as serious/professional, just I as an American almost never hear West End news unless I go looking for it on sites like this.
There aren't names in the leads probably because no respectable actor would want to be associated with what could have been a train-wreck experience. I can't speak about what she's been like to work with though.
I'm personally glad she's back on the right track. I haven't seen her performance, but I think it's healthy for her to be in theatre. There's a regular strict schedule she has to stick to and be on her toes the entire time.
