TDF membership

Hello all. My mother would like to become a TDF member - she is retired. Her concern is that if she can't make the show for whatever reason, would that preclude her guest from attending? Does anyone have any experience with this?

The "rule" is, that only the TDF member can pick up the tickets at the box office. However, I think only maybe once in 6 years have I even been asked for my confirmation, let alone ID proving who I was. So I guess it's up to the B.O. to enforce the rule or not, and my experience is they almost never do.

I was asked for my ID last week picking up TDF tickets, but they normally don't.
