Just making conversation. They've been a couple for maybe 2+ years and cohabitate and share a wardrobe and everything, but just recently (maybe the past 6+ months?) they were outed to the masses. And I just love them. So Cute. They're two beautiful, ridiculously tall, charming guys who both have done some really great tv work. They're kind of my dream gay couple.
I thought bww would be a good place to start a little chatty chat, since tbh, they're still kind of under the radar probably due to lack of mainstream interest, and it seems like all of their fans (separately and together) are f-ing unhinged. Like, next level cat lady land of denial stalker crazy… So anyhoo, thoughts? anyone? :/
I never knew who Lee Pace was before I saw The Normal Heart but I loved him much more than whoever played whatever part he played in the revival. The white gay guy.
You have not seen Soldier's Girl or The Fall? Wasn't a fan of Pushing Daisies (I know i'm sorry!) and he was so so weird in The Hobbit films, but he was fabulous way back when. Richard Armitage's career kind of floundered and i've only seen him in one thing that I liked, but that one thing is probably my favorite bbc miniseries of all time. North and South, si si.
Agh, no I have not said it all. That was just an intro to get the ball rolling!! Come on!!
I have never seen any of those things in Revolutionary's second paragraph.
I'm not bragging like a lot of the proudly ignorant on this site, or suggesting that the things mentioned must not have been important if I've never seen them like SOME people do around here. I'm just saying to explain how I never knew who dreamy Lee was. His Normal Heart mustache was era-perfect.
-I didn't mention their stage work because i have not experienced any.
-I too enjoyed Troy Garity back in the day. Whatever happened to him? bummer.
-I keep looking for LIKE buttons. Geez. Also, I have been stuck on 'broadway star' for maybe 4 years. ?
-More people need to see North and South. It is MAGICAL. Just perfect. I do believe it's on netflix streaming.
-Yeah their fans are scary. If you just googled the topic and saw the discussions and essays and topic boards and data lounge threads and tumblrs and comments, you will see.. brace yourself for lots of bitches you crazy!
^ i tried with that one. His hair and eye makeup looked interesting. but it was just so bad, i couldn't. The only other thing I can think of that I liked was the Shakespeare Retold Macbeth, with James McAvoy. He was Macduff. His Crucible in London looks good from the promo pics and review i read. Maybe I should troll the west end board a bit
Overall, Robin Hood wasn't that great, but Richard and Harry Lloyd were standouts, to me.
And The Fall is one of my favorite movies, especially with how they ran the behind the scenes stuff to make it more real for that little girl, like Lee pretending to be crippled.
I have The Fall dvd, and have never watched the extras!! Shame on me. Thank you for mentioning it. Lee was so wonderful in that, and that actress Justine something who is in a bunch of bbc stuff, was so ethereally beautiful in her costumes. I love the Japanese costumer designer who's name is escaping me, I hope the Met does an exhibit or retrospect of her work someday. I've still yet to see a more visually insane perfect film. And when he's crying in his chair at the end, waaah!! <3
Oh, the behind the scenes footage and info are the best. One of my favorite things I learned from it is when Lee's character Roy is freaking out because she didn't give him the pills he wanted, she is supposed to run away which segues into the next scene. Instead, she was so scared that she would take a step, freeze, take another step, and freeze again. When the director, Tarsem, told her they needed to redo it, she refused. So, her freezing made it into the film.
Sigh...what I wouldn't give for a Troy Garity/Lee Pace sandwich.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

no, but according to my friend they were in closed on escrow status for property in ny a couple weeks ago. That's why i got re-interested, tbh. Always liked both actors, and I've been coming across random bits about them for a year or so, but real estate talk always gets me. The thought of them sharing one gigantic closet was sparking much warmth in my heart. Then i googled and got more amused!
i think they're open for sure, but in glass closets with no doors type things. Doesn't seem like either's style to come out to media
i'm not sure actually. I think it was maybe the combo of the hobbit press, twitter, gossip sites?? I first read about them when ian mckellen said something about all his costars being gay as opposed to when he was filming the original LOTRS, and he was the only openly gay actor. And I would come across random stuff on live journal and pinterest etc, but much more in the past few months. It's weird and kind of baffling to me that Lee Pace is not more famous, i've been watching his stuff since I was about 16! Updated On: 8/27/14 at 03:46 PM
That can be a philosophical grey matter subject, degrees of closeted-ness. Especially in relation to the word 'accuracy' and media and 'real life' in general, know what I mean? I'm sorry, i don't know how to say that without sounding really weird or really high...
But no I don't think Lee has ever said on record, 'Yes I am gay.' I'm not positive though. Anyone know? Has Richard?
