#1Who is the Next Robin Williams?
Posted: 8/17/14 at 12:25pmAlthough Robin Williams flopped in his sitcom, mainly because it was a defective premise, he was still the most talented comedic actor in the USA. I recently checked various lists of the nations top 25 comedy "actors" and found no one with the gifts for comedic acting, accents, impressions, wit, presence in front of the camera, dramatic acting as Robin Williams. Then I searched the internet and found just one talented person named Elon Gold. Elon does have the talent for accents, comedy wit, impressions; but can he act? It's one thing to do standup; another to act. Are there any young, or new, or unknown comedy actors in the USA or world who even approach the talents and gifts of Robin Williams? There must be at least one upcoming actor in New York or Chicago who has the potential to become an all-around super-talent as Robin Williams.

Posted: 8/17/14 at 12:48pmBecause there are producers and directors and writers across the country who have projects needing a talented comedic actor, and for the most part, Hollywood has favored sketch comedians or the standup of the month - most of them with little ability to interpret or embellish a beautifully written story and character. What we have now are mostly shtick meisters.

There will never be another Robin Williams, just like there never has been another Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Oliver Hardy, Groucho Marx, Jerry Lewis, or Richard Pryor.
Each of those actors had a unique constellation of skills that no one else has since matched and they have each left uniquely them-shaped voids in Hollywood after their passing. But the idea that they should be replaced by "the next" version of them is still rather nonsensical. Other comedians, with other skill sets and personalities and milieus, have always arisen to meet the times. Different times call for different comedians. There will never be another Robin Williams, and that is exactly as it should be.
Would you want your friends and family to sit around discussing "So... who's the next [insert your name]?" after you die?

Lady Gaga was the next Madonna. The business side of show business doesn't want to mess with a winning formula.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Probably Chris Colfer.
I can't think of anyone else who looks, sounds, and has the same comedic stylings as Robin.
