According to her:

"When the producers came to me last January and said, 'We want you to write a musical about the 'Today' show,' I said, 'What? It's going to be a disaster.' They said, 'That's why we want you.' I have a little experience with disasters on Broadway!"

Regis Philbin will guest star in the musical, which features music by Scandalous collaborator David Friedman. The team at "Today" will comprise the cast.

Well I'm glad she realizes how terrible her first effort was. But why not hire, I don't know, REAL writers to do this? (It could be funny if they got real comedy writers with wit.)

It's an 18-minute live tv musical starring Regis? Can't wait. This is going to win so many Emmys.

Was Scandalous a good show? Not by any stretch of the imagination. However, amongst all the mediocrity, the recording shows that "Stand Up!" "Why Can't I?" and "I Have A Fire" are all genuinely good songs. I hope the score is of that caliber - not the same as, oh, I don't know "Follow Me".
"I know what a show-stopping song is. I know what you get a Tony for. Neither of those songs were it. And Sheryl Lee Ralph didn't even get nominated. Even with the new material. You know as an artist when somebody's giving you material that will stop a show. Give me the material. I know how to stop a show." - Tonya Pinkins Blocked: mjohnson2

I would assume it will air during the first 2 hours of the Today Show if they are all involved.
Just give the world Love.
