It really is a special show. I believe the reason it's not extending is due to Sutton's upcoming television show.

Let's be honest, no matter how wonderful the show may be it's not extending because there is no demand for it to extend and Roundabout doesn't see it as a safe investment. There have only been two weeks where it just barely cleared 50% of their gross potential, every other week it's been in the 30s or 40s. While the show is far from the most expensive musical to run, their costs would go up if they extended, as there are salary increases built into the contract with Equity in the event of extending past the originally contracted run (and I assume the other unions would see a bump in salary for their members as well).

You can talk about schedules and availability, but in the end it comes down to money and numbers when you are talking about the non-profit companies extending the run of their shows.

^This. It's not selling well enough to justify an extension.

It's truly wonderful though, I've never considered myself a huge Sutton fan (I've mostly just liked her, but not been crazy about her) but this performance turned me into a fan. She's really doing beautiful work.
