I'm currently watching the movie and I'm thinking that... Brian Darcy James would be a wonderful Quasimodo And that Tom Hewitt could play Frollo And Niki M. James as Esmeralda would be Phenomenal What's your thoughts??
I think Brian D'arcy James is way too old for Quasimodo...at least the Disney Quasimodo...I really wish they would bring Drew Sarich. Karen Olivo is my hope for Esmerelda. Since I first heard/saw videos of her Anita I thought of her in this role.
JEREMY JORDAN/DREW SARICH as Quasimodo PATRICK PAGE/TERRENCE MANN as Frollo KAREN OLIVO/MANDY GONZALEZ/SAMANTHA BARKS as Esmerelda CHRISTIAN BORLE as Clopin RAMIN KARIMLOO/NORM LEWIS as Phoebus
Predicting the casting that will be done by Disney (not dream casting), I suspect Josh Strickland as Quasimodo. Have you seen his rendition of "Made of Stone" he performed at D23 Expo? It was truly breathtaking and he received a standing ovation from some audience members
I actually think Ramin would also be awesome for Clopin, if you listen to Tanz Auf Dem Seil from the German production (which Clopin sings), he has more of an operatic sound then in the movie. BTW this is my personal favorite addition to the score. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gsl1l5HC5Dk
Josh Strickland sounded amazing singing "Made of Stone," but it really made no sense and sounded far from any interpretation of Quasimodo I'd be excited to see. Drew Sarich is great, but might be a little over the hill. I'm hoping for a lesser known actor.
Sarich is a very talented man, but why does his name come up for every role? He's about to be 40, let's cast him age appropriate. The Disney Hunchback seems to be a younger man's role, what age do most see him?
