Not broadway, but show related... Just curious to see if anyone has rush at the Met as I'm planning on going Thursday. Is it an easy rush? When did you rush and how early did you arrive?
Did it Monday. Easy rush got there at 845. But it was not a popular opera that day. Maybe 50 people there.
If you get there early there are nice marble benches to sit on (no back), bring something to sit on. they get cold. There are also outlets so you can charge your phone and or computer. It's also down stairs by the parking garage, so you are indoors out of the weather. Updated On: 4/2/14 at 09:42 PM
They don't go on sale til 2 hours before the curtain, so you won't be able to buy til 5:30. If you get there 60-90 minutes before that, should be ok. You don't wanna be there in the morning.
One thing, I noticed the people in the line tend to be very protective of the line . Make friends with the people in front and behind you in case you have to pee (there are clean, safe bathrooms available), or want to go to lunch. Some lady just wanted to sit on our bench to eat and the rest of the line got upset because they thought she was cutting. I mean really upset. I have heard stories of shouting matches breaking out. The opera folks don't mess around.
FYI the rush tickets are only for Monday-Thursday performances. They do have rush for Friday and Saturday performances, but that is done via an online lottery that you must sign up for earlier in the week.
