NJ Transit stalled me this morning for an extra half hour and the last "Twelfth Night" SRO ended up being sold to the person three feet in front of me.

Since the box office attendant was deliberately unhelpful (the whole jaded, angry-at-the-world, bitter queen thing will never go out of style in this town, will it?) I have come here for answers.

Has anyone had experience with cancellation lines, for this production or any other? Does a line actually form?

The only time I ever got on a cancellation line, which actually formed, was for "Red" four years ago, and I did succeed at getting in. It was also in its final week.

The box office worker basically said that there was no such thing as a line for this show, but he enjoyed saying it so much I'm not sure if I believe him.

Before making the decision to either stick around or try again Thursday, I'll entertain any pearls of wisdom which come my way.

I was there the other day (got SRO)and someone had an extra ticket outside the theater before the show. I don't know if that is helpful.

Assuming the bad weather projected for Thursday won't prevent you from getting into NYC, that will certainly increase your chances... and keep checking online, in case they release any house seats.

I don't have an answer for you, sorry. But I wanted to mention that I have dealt with two men at the Belasco box office. One of them is super helpful and goes out of his way to search for tickets. The other one, in contrast, seems a bit short on patience. For instance, I inquired at one point about upper box tickets, and the impatient guy told me they were all sold out for the rest of the run. The next day I returned, and luckily for me the other person was there. He indeed found me the tickets I was looking for.

This late in the run, however, I bet tickets are in short supply. On the "other" bulletin board, All That Chat, there is a Shoppin' category. My friend purchased Twelfth Night tickets from someone there. Best of luck!

I don't have an answer either, but your description of the "box office attendant" was way too funny.

I take the NJ Transit train daily. During the cold weather, you cannot depend on them to bring you into the city on time. I would not even try taking the train in on Thursday during the storm.

Yes, it's so true - that's why I am remaining near the Beladcp until at least 7 in hopes of seeing it tonight.

A different box office rep was kind and articulate. She said that yes, an organized cancellation line will form.

Well, that NJ Transit delay ended up costing me $138 + credit card interest, but the point is I got in. I'll never forget this production as long as I live. Outstanding.

What time did the cancellation line form? And were different prices available to pick from or do they just sell the next person on the line whatever they get as it becomes available? So is it possible to say you only want one of the $27 tickets when and if one becomes available? Or would there not even be any $27 tickets available from the cancellation line, is that only house seats? If some get refunded because of the weather do they just go up for sale as soon as they are returned or do they hold on to them until they start selling to the cancellation line? Based on what I saw last night, no 27 level tickets become available.

I was the last person out of about 6 to get anything. The line formed about 90 minutes prior.

Some tickets were non-house (or something like that) cancellations and, as such, could only be purchased with cash. That ruled me out. A few people behind me got to purchase before me by default.

I have to imagine that even if a $27 became available, they would resell it for $138 with a line of people waiting...

Well I gave the cancellation line a try tonight and it was a huge line. A few people in the front of the line did get $27 tickets and a box office employee came out to ask who wants to purchase $150 tickets for cash. Guess I should of got there earlier. Though I did quickly chat with Joel McHale after he asked people behind me if this line was for people who already have tickets. And spotted Wallace Shawn entering the theater. So it wasn't a total bust, since I'm a huge Community fan.

Then I went over to Bridges of Madison County and got the $37 snow special, which was just a rush ticket. And said hello to Henry Winkler who was in the audience. He was super nice, chatting it up with everyone.
