Has anyone seen any of the four new Matildas? If so, thoughts?

I've seen Paige Brady and Gabriella Pizzolo. Paige is a phenomenal singer and dancer. Her acting is a little stiff, but I'm sure she will grow into it. Gabriella probably has the best acting out of any Matilda i've seen and her singing will strengthen in time!

Very happy so far with the new bunch!

I haven't seen any of them yet but on the web somewhere - don't remember where I heard it - there's a recording of Ava singing "Quiet". It's very moving.

I have seen Gabby twice and find her acting on par with the originals. Her Naughty still needs some work, but her Quiet is very well sung, heart felt, and on par with the originals. I saw her opening performance and a show last week and she continues to grow into the role.

I just saw Ripley tonight. Tiny ..very endearing and adorable. Quite the little actress - her storytelling is amazing. Her speaking voice is very powerful when it needs to be. She was a little winded during Naughty but her singing in general was fine. She was also very funny - especially as the show moved along and she really got going. She really gets the idea taking her time to sell a joke or funny line. Also the moment she realized it was Miss Trunchbull who was the aunt..just perfect the way her face lit up with the realization of it.

A funny moment - when Ripley is telling story #2..her long hair got caught up in her jacket, so when she put her jacket over her head to be the aunt, her hair flipped over with it. So it looked like she had huge bangs that covered half her face. But she didn't let it faze her..she just continued though I am sure she could barely see.

Ben was on for Trunchbull - has really made the role his own without just copying what Bertie did. And I didn't realize that Karen Aldridge was back...I thought she left permanently.

Ripley as Matilda has a particularly stern face for much of the show..so her bright smile at curtain call was nice to see. A lot of the kids in the show gave her high fives as they crossed the stage at the last curtain call. You can tell they think she is doing a great job.

I too was there last night. Too be honest, at first I was unsure about Ripley. Like Kathy said, she needs to work on her Naughty. As the show went on, she completely won me over. Her singing Is fine, but her acting is perfection. I was sitting up close and her facial expressions were priceless. She did play the role a bit more funny then others, but I thought it worked perfectly.
I was so happy to see Ben again as Trench. He played the role as his own but is very realistic in the role. As always, the stand outs in the show were Leslie as Mrs. Wormwood and Beatrice as Amanda.

I was up close also - row F lottery all the way to the left side - but the the people in the 6 seats next to me never showed so we moved in so I was able to see everything.

It was my first time on the left side downstairs - sound is much better orchestra left than right. First time I wasn't annoyed.
