I think it is. It actually has a kick ass score and the story is a little weak but I think it is a wonderful show overall. Eden was power house in it. Thoughts?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Personally, I liked it. I listen to it every now and then. I thought the score was fun and the vocals were great. Just my personal opinion though. We all have different tastes.
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
I have never seen the show, but i bought the cast recording because Eden Espinosa was on it and I was prepared to love it but had a very hard time forcing myself to listen to it even once. It is by far the worst score that I have ever heard.
It's nice of Gleeker (who signed up a few days ago) to use the "blank post" on me, something that we used to do around here a while ago in regards to another troll.
I can attest that Brooklyn was bad. The night I saw it Eden Espinosa's voice sounded like it was totally shot. The entire cast did the best they could but there was really no salvaging it. The score was underwhelming and the book was even worse. It ranks up there with Rent as one of the loudest Broadway shows I've ever seen.
