Listening to this album has actually markedly improved my opinion of the show; when I saw it I thought it was simply delightful, now I'm realizing how brilliant these lyrics really are on closer study...
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
Gaveston, it could have something to do with the track tagging. Usually differences in the "album artist" field will account for that kind of behavior in iTunes. I haven't purchased this one yet so I can't say if that's what's happening here, but adjusting that field for the entire album so that it is all the same has usually resolved that issue with other recordings. (sometimes it may be one of the other fields that aren't matching up across the album, but "album artist" is usually the first one to check)
Is there an extra verse in lady hyacinth abroad? In the India section. It starts "now no words". Was this added recently? I saw the show after it opened and just don't remember this.
Anyone have any idea when the sheet music for this show is coming out? I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for it but can't find news about it anywhere.
