Awakening: Live at 54 Below Features Liner Notes by Hal Prince
and Andrew Lloyd Webber

(November 21, 2013 – New York, NY) – Sierra Boggess’ "Awakening: Live At 54 BELOW" will be released digitally on December 6th and on CD on December 10th, 2013. The CD is now available for pre-order at http://amzn.com/B00GNKOYCG. The iTunes and CD editions of the album will include liner notes essays from Broadway legends Hal Prince and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

In his liner notes, Prince called Sierra, “a crystal-clear soprano and she can belt with the best of 'em. Add to that, she's as good and true an actress as I've ever worked with and all of this talent is delivered in a beautiful package.”

Lloyd Webber offered, “Sierra is a one-off, a true original, someone who I cannot wait to work with again if she will allow me to.”

Sierra Boggess is perhaps best known for her Broadway performances as Ariel in The Little Mermaid and as Christine in the 25th Anniversary Engagement of The Phantom of the Opera as well as portraying Christine in the Phantom sequel, Love Never Dies.

“I am thrilled to announce that my debut solo album is my live show at 54 BELOW! I hope anyone who hears it enjoys the journey we go on together and feels inspired and awakened!” said Boggess.

Sierra is joined on a few selected songs by two members of her family: Summer Boggess on cello and her father, Mike Boggess, on an acoustic guitar he built himself. “Sierra Boggess is a stunning talent and we feel incredibly fortunate to include her debut solo recording as part of our Live at 54 BELOW album series,” said Van Dean, co-founder of Broadway Records.

The music director for “Awakening: Live at 54 BELOW” is Brian Hertz and the recording is produced by Michael J. Moritz, Jr. and executive produced by Van Dean and Kenny Howard, of The Broadway Consortium. “Awakening” is the latest in the “Live at 54 BELOW” series that started earlier this year with albums by Patti LuPone, Norbert Leo Butz, Christiane Noll, Andrea McArdle, Aaron Tveit, Laura Benanti and the just announced Michael Cerveris & Loose Cattle and Bebe Neuwirth. More albums in the series will be announced shortly.

Sierra Boggess returns to 54 BELOW December 2, 4 and 5 at 7PM, and December 6 and 7 at 8PM to celebrate the release of her album. Tickets are $45 - $60 cover plus a $25 minimum. 54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, is the new performance venue in the grand tradition of New York City nightlife. A few blocks from the heart of Times Square and just below the legendary Studio 54, 54 BELOW is a classically designed state-of-the art nightclub in the theatre district that hosts audiences with warmth and style. The venue provides a food and beverage menu from early evening through the wee hours of the morning that is worthy of the world-class entertainment on the stage. In their description of 54 BELOW, The New York Times writes “the club has the intimacy of a large living room with unimpeded views and impeccable sound; there is not a bad seat. Its sultry after-hours ambience is enhanced by brocade-patterned wall panels planted with orange-shaded lanterns. And the atmosphere is warmer and sexier than in Manhattan’s other major supper clubs.” Located at 254 West 54th Street, 54 BELOW features up to three shows nightly with cover charges ranging from $15-$95.
